Manzanar Magazine Project Reflection Questions
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
The project of the Manzanar camp was a magazine that relates to four different standards. It relates because it is a magazine project that gathers info from different credible sources, makes connections & distinctions between events, & cute textual evidence.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project.
One skill I feel I gained strength on was analyzing & interpreting data. I used this skill while internet surfing on reliable pages for how real internees felt & their opinions during their stay at the internment camp.
3. Upon reflecting on your works/ score what is one thing you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects?
I could have done better in grammar & spelling. I had several words I could have replaced due to repetition of words & to have written them correctly. Practicing more on this area can help me improve to do better.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world. Make connections between the content and your life.
Some people still blame certain races for certain things. They even wish to push those races out. I am Hispanic & some people like to blame us as robbers, criminals, rapists etc. for the simply reason taut some people from our race have done this. Just cause one person from one race does something not everyone should get blamed for it. Just like the Japanese. The empire of Japan decided to bomb Pearl Harbor causing WWII. Americans started to feel threatened by the Japanese. Eventually the Executive Order 9066. In that order the President relocates all Japanese living in the west coast of the US. They were relocated into 10 small camps. They also were told to leave everything behind except the essential things. They lost everything just because Japan decided to bomb Pearl Harbor.
