Grid Drawing
1. How does this relate to the standard?
The standard is 6.VA.2.4 & it is to create an original work of art reflection my own aspects of art techniques proving I have increased my skill of my personal choice.
2. What are the steps you took to complete & do well on this assignment?
First I had to choose a celebrity to draw since I had not brought a picture f my own. The celebrity I got was one of my celeb crushes when I was younger but I kind of change my mind over time specially since I now had to redraw him. Once getting my celebrity, I had to create the grid on the paper we got from Ms. Kohl. It was hard because I was really surprised because my grid was always not straight & off. I eventually took an entire day to finish the grid. The next time we came to class, I started working on the person itself. It was hard because I had to cover the original picture with post its & leave only the grid I was working on. It was a temptation to not but I worked with it. Over all the project looked nothing like the actual person in real life but I tried. Art isn't really my thing but knowing I did my own thing on this project & that I actually feel pretty satisfied with what I did makes me happy & complete.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
This assignment demonstrates that I have the ability of creating an original work of art using my own technical skills. It also demonstrates I have the ability of creating a satisfactorily work of art reflecting on my own choices not mattering that art is actually a weakness of mine.
4. I could have improved on this assignment by......
I could have used my time more efficiently because I didn't get to add more value and because I didn't get to add positive & negative space as much either. If I had not messed up so bad in the beginning, I would have finished the project on time.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes when you are still a student?
When I grow up, I want to be an automotive engineer. Automotive engineers will have to know how to use grids when they are planning out the design of the car. That is similar to what I did during this project. Therefore when I do this in the future (hopefully), I would already have experience on it.
