REflection Sheet
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This assignment's standard was 5.1 which was to describe the major pre-Columbian settlements, including the cliff dwellers and pueblo people of the certain region the student chose. I chose to use the Nez tribe to write about their daily life and their life styles. This assignment relates/meets the standard and demonstrates I understood the assignment because in my diary entry (rafts) I talked about how the Nez tribe lived (their homes), what they ate due to the region they were at, their clothes materials & their weapons. I also described what the different people from the tribe did.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this.
I feel like one skill I really had gained strength on is planning and carrying out something. I did several different drafts for this RAFT and I planned out what I needed to have and other things that could make my diary entry run smooth in wording. Carrying out something like this has always been my struggle and for this project I was actually surprised that it was easy for me to know where to start and I feel like that has been a great improvement.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects?
The length of my project was something I could have improved on and something I have taken into consideration for future projects.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today’s society)? Make connections between the content and your life.
I will apply these skills to another class. I will use them in my ELA class when we do diary entries or when we do stories to present and share with our classmates. I could also use it in ELA when we do our writing exams. I can use real life events as a theme for my writing.
